Mudra D Viral Responds to “Hoozambe” Money Dispute, Says He’s Yet to Break Even

By BigEyeUg Tran

Singer Mudra D Viral has come out to address the ongoing fallout with D Star over alleged earnings from their “Hoozambe” remix, pushing back strongly against claims that he made millions from the song.

The disagreement started after D Star accused Mudra of earning around Shs140 million from the track’s YouTube performance before taking it down, and then refusing to share the money.

But Mudra tells a completely different story. According to him, the figures being thrown around are far from reality, and he hasn’t even recovered the money he invested into the project.

“I haven’t got back what I put into the song. I even tried reaching out to sort this out, but he didn’t respond. I only deleted the video after being labeled a thief,” Mudra said.

He believes the misunderstanding is coming from wrong calculations about how streaming revenue works. Mudra also referenced comments allegedly made to D Star by Kalifah Aganaga, suggesting that even people with experience in the industry can sometimes misjudge digital earnings.

Mudra says he gave D Star a chance to verify everything properly by involving his management team, but that offer was turned down.

“I asked them to meet my managers so they could check the numbers themselves, but they refused,” he explained.

In an effort to clear his name, Mudra says he’s ready to go a step further—by opening up his accounts publicly.

“I can even sit down with the media, log into my TuneCore account, and show everything. The money they’re talking about simply isn’t there,” he said.

On the issue of deleting the video, Mudra maintains it was a reaction to the accusations against him, not an attempt to hide anything.
