By BigEyeUg Team

Veteran comedian and radio personality Amooti Omubalanguzi has dismissed reports that he was fired from Beat FM, clarifying that his departure from full-time radio work was a personal decision.

Rumours recently circulated on social media claiming that Amooti had been relieved of his duties at the station, where he had spent nearly two decades on air. The speculation sparked debate among his followers, with many questioning the circumstances surrounding his exit.

However, while speaking after a press conference for an upcoming comedians’ concert, Amooti set the record straight, insisting that he was not dismissed. He explained that after 18 years in radio broadcasting, he felt it was time to take a step back from the demanding routine of full-time presenting.

According to Amooti, the decision was motivated by a desire to reduce his workload and focus on other responsibilities. He noted that despite leaving his full-time role, listeners will continue to hear his content on the station from time to time.

He also revealed that balancing his radio duties with other commitments, including work related to Amarula, had become overwhelming, prompting him to ease some of his responsibilities.
