Rapper and singer Recho Rey has opened up about the artists currently dominating her playlist in 2026, revealing a mix of international stars and local talent that continue to inspire her musically.
While speaking during an interview, Recho Rey shared that American R&B superstar Chris Brown tops her list this year. According to her, Chris Brown remains one of the few artists she constantly listens to because of his ability to reinvent himself while still maintaining his signature sound.
“He even has a new album out now and it’s what I’ve been listening to,” she said.
Taking the second spot on her list is Canadian rapper and singer Tory Lanez. Recho Rey noted that she enjoys the emotional depth and creativity in his music, especially the way he blends rap, R&B, and melodic sounds together.
“He’s currently in jail and has also just released a new album. But there are some specific singles of his I’m currently listening to,” Recho Rey disclosed.
In third place, she mentioned American singer-songwriter Kehlani, praising her soulful music and authenticity.
Recho Rey explained that Kehlani’s music carries emotion and honesty, something she appreciates because it makes listeners connect deeply with the songs.
Nigerian singer Ruger came in fourth on her list. She shared that Ruger’s music has a unique vibe and infectious energy that keeps her entertained.
Despite naming several international acts, Recho Rey made it clear that Ugandan music still has a special place in her heart. She singled out Fik Fameica as the Ugandan artist she is currently listening to the most.
According to her, Fik Fameica has an unmatched energy in his music that she strongly relates to.
“I listen to some of Fik Fameica’s songs because he has some energy that I relate with so much,” she explained.
