President Yoweri Kaguta Museveni has been sworn in for a new term of office in a tightly secured and highly ceremonial event held at Kololo Independence Grounds, marked by a blend of constitutional procedure, military tradition, and national symbolism.

The ceremony, held on Tuesday, unfolded under heavy security as dignitaries, military officials, and invited guests gathered to witness the official commencement of Museveni’s new term. The atmosphere was defined by structured military pageantry, constitutional rituals, and patriotic displays that underscored the significance of the occasion.
Yoweri Kaguta Museveni took both the oath of allegiance and the presidential oath, formally affirming his mandate to continue leading the country. His swearing-in was accompanied by a 21-gun salute, the lowering and raising of the presidential standard, and other ceremonial honors traditionally reserved for the head of state.
Following the oaths, Museveni signed key official instruments before receiving the symbols of national authority, including the Constitution, the national flag, the presidential standard, the coat of arms, and the public seal. These items were presented as part of the formal transfer and reaffirmation of executive power.
He later proceeded to inspect a military parade in his new capacity as President and Commander-in-Chief of the armed forces, acknowledging the ceremonial guard of honor.
The event at Kololo Independence Grounds reflected the constitutional traditions of Uganda, combining state protocol with military precision in marking the beginning of a new presidential term.
