Singer Lydia Jazmine has opened up about the impact of Sheebah Karungi’s musical hiatus on the industry.
She believes that Sheebah’s absence has created a noticeable gap, as the artist has played a crucial role in shaping the Ugandan music scene.
In a recent interview, Lydia credited Sheebah for her strong influence on young artists and emphasized how important she has been in paving the way for many musicians.
“There is definitely a gap because Sheebah is a big influence. I even laugh at people who disrespect her. Everyone has achieved something and is somewhere in the industry, but there are artists who paved the way; you just have to respect such people. Personally, I cannot disrespect someone like her because she inspired us to join the industry. She is a big influence and a big artist,” Lydia stated.
Sheebah Karungi, one of Uganda’s most celebrated female artists, took a break from music after her successful concert last year.
The singer has since been on maternity leave and has not yet made a return to the music scene.
