Former Miss Uganda and media personality Stella Nantumbwe, popularly known as Ellah, has deactivated her known Instagram account amid the ongoing public controversy surrounding her separation from her estranged husband, Saidi Bukenya.
The development comes as discussions about the couple’s failed marriage continue to dominate social media. Nantumbwe and Bukenya tied the knot in August last year, but their relationship has recently come under intense public scrutiny following allegations related to household property reportedly taken from their marital home after the separation.
On the morning of June 16, 2026, a video recorded by Nantumbwe before leaving her husband’s residence surfaced online. It remains unclear whether the former beauty queen personally released the footage or whether it was shared by someone who had access to it. In the video, Nantumbwe is seen moving through different rooms of the house, including the bedroom and washroom, documenting various items and household belongings.
The video emerged a day after the Head of the State House Investors Protection Unit, Edith Nakalema, publicly appealed to Nantumbwe to return property allegedly taken from Bukenya following the breakdown of their marriage. During the recording, Nantumbwe states that she only left the home with her personal vehicle, seemingly responding to claims that she departed with household assets.
Although Nantumbwe has not publicly explained the reason behind the deactivation of her Instagram account, many observers believe she may have chosen to temporarily step away from social media as public debate surrounding the matter continues. Neither Nantumbwe nor Bukenya has issued any fresh statement regarding the latest developments.
