A Pass has opened up about why he has never signed to a record label, saying it was a deliberate decision to protect his creative freedom and maintain full control over his music career.

Speaking about his journey in the industry, A Pass noted that many artists tend to lose their artistic direction once they enter formal contracts with labels and start dealing with external pressure. For him, that risk was enough to keep his setup independent from the beginning.
“I am not signed because I felt like usually when people are signed, they lose creative control,” he explained.
Instead of working with a traditional management structure, A Pass revealed that he chose to build a small, tightly controlled team—one that is deeply aligned with his vision. He currently works closely with his sister, who also serves as his manager.
He described their arrangement as one based on trust and shared responsibility, but with clear boundaries in roles. While she handles the business side of things, A Pass takes full responsibility for the creative process, including production, rehearsals, and live performance preparation.
“My sister does not remind me to go to the studio, I remind myself… she is more involved in the business side of things,” he said, adding that decision-making around contracts and management is done together, though she leads most of it.
A Pass emphasized that having someone who genuinely understands and protects an artist’s vision is more important than simply looking for a manager.
“People are looking for managers, but they should find a way to manage, not to look for a manager,” he noted.
