East Africa’s pioneering, one-stop platform for all things baby and children, the Baby & Kids Expo East Africa, is set to return to Kampala for its 2026 edition. The family-focused event will take place at UMA Show Grounds, Lugogo, from 16th to 17th May 2026 under the theme “Care Before Crisis.”
This year’s theme is a strong call for parents to shift from a reactive approach, dealing with challenges only when they arise, to a more preventive, care-driven mindset when it comes to their children’s wellbeing. Speaking at the launch, Joweria Nabuuma, Founder and CEO of Kiara Events, emphasized the need to create a space where parents can seek support before things become overwhelming.
That space is the Baby & Kids Expo, which goes beyond a traditional exhibition. It serves as a dynamic platform that brings together a full circle of support, parents, caregivers, educators, health professionals, brands, and most importantly, babies and children, all in one place for two engaging days.
The message is clear, the future of parenting is shifting from reaction to preparation. As Nabuuma explains, “we are moving parents from doing it alone to doing it together. This is a space for parents to show up early, to learn, to ask questions, and to prepare for what lies ahead.”
Over time, the Expo has established itself as a must-attend event on Uganda’s May calendar. It will run daily from 9:00 AM, with entry tickets priced at UGX 10,000. This year’s edition is expected to attract up to 50 leading brands in the baby and children’s sector, alongside robotics showcases, children’s fashion shows, and initiatives that position children as active participants in their own growth journey.
Yvonne Nalwanga Odessa, a returning attendee and parent, shares, “I see the Baby & Kids Expo as a space that empowers parents to succeed in the most important role they have. You come here to gain practical tools and to be reminded that there is a whole community ready to support you. I’ve attended every edition, and it has become a must for me every May.”
Looking ahead, the Expo aims to amplify more parenting stories and reinforce the belief that great parenting is achievable. With the right support system, families can confidently move from crisis to care.
