Kenyan Women Remanded In Uganda Prison Over Theft At Entebbe Airport


Kenyan woman identified as Rosemary Maina Nyambura, has been remanded to Kigo Prison in Uganda after being charged with stealing a passenger’s bag at Entebbe International Airport.

Maina appeared before the Entebbe Chief Magistrate’s Court where she denied the charges butbqas remanded to Kigo prison until April 16, 2025, when her case is mentioned again.

Authorities at Entebbe International Airport arrested Nyambura after an incident involving the theft of a bag belonging to a passenger that was captured on CCTV cameras at the airport.

It is not common for a foreigner to be arrested in Uganda over theft. Most of the times such issues are resolved and the person is let into their country again.

For this Kenyan woman it is not clear what exactly will happen to her if she is found guilt for the case they are pinning on her.
