Yolesa Ekitone’s judge Alex Mukulu’s grand daughter known as Israela just won the The UK Voice Singing competitions 2022.
Israela’s win wouldn’t come as a surprise owing to the fact that she comes from a highly musical family.
She happens to be the daughter of Ugandan singer turned pastor Myko Chris amd Gwendolyn.
For those that don’t know Myko Chris, he resides in the UK and collaborated with Goodlyf in 2009 on the hit track ‘Zino Ennaku.’
Seated in the crowds while sobbing, Myko sat with his wife as be watched his daughter melodiously and angelically sing Carrie Underwood’s “How Great Thou Art.”
She received a standing ovation from the judges that included famous singer, producer and actor Will.Iam, Ronan, Pixie and Danny.
The 14 year old girl beat Todd, Tawana and Sebastian to win the much coveted contest.
Shortly after being announced the winner, Israela thanked both the judges, family and fellow competitors.
“‘Thank you all so much for believing in me and I really hope I made you proud. I wanna thank these guys over here… You guys brought the fire this year!”- Israella noted in a short speech.
Israela was mentored by one of the judges Pixie and she couldn’t her elation.
As any other proud dad, Myko Chris couldn’t hide his joy as he took to social media to post a tribute to his daughter.
“We thank God for this far He has brought us. Our own @israella.chris made it through the auditions and now she is into the live battles. He who begun this great work He will finish it in victory. We Are Kainos “- he posted on his Instagram.
