Catherine Kusasira has placed herself among the very best female artists in Uganda, arguing that her talent and stage presence put her in a class of her own.
The veteran musician believes only she and fellow singer Cindy Sanyu stand out as complete entertainers capable of delivering both strong vocals and captivating live performances. Kusasira said many artists may produce enjoyable songs, but few can command a stage the way she and Cindy do.
According to Kusasira, being a successful musician goes beyond recording hit songs. She noted that appearance, confidence, audience engagement, and performance skills are all important factors when evaluating an artist’s overall impact.
While discussing other female musicians, Kusasira acknowledged that Grace Nakimera is talented but placed her below the top three in her personal rankings.
She also praised Mary Bata for her abilities as both a singer and performer, though she ranked her further down the list.
Kusasira maintained that her catalogue of hit songs and years of experience justify her position at the summit of Uganda’s female music scene. She insisted that when it comes to combining vocal ability and stagecraft, she and Cindy remain unmatched.
