Ykee Benda was recently asked what he believes men truly want and what he personally looks for in a woman.

According to him, there is power in humility and calmness within a relationship.
“Men will always have ego. When you understand them, you realize that a man is looking for a place where he feels like a king,” he said.
He added that outside the home, many men—regardless of status, even the richest or most powerful—don’t necessarily feel that sense of authority.
He explained that every man has someone they answer to, and for many, the only place they can fully feel like themselves—or like a “king”—is at home with their partner and family.
Ykee Benda also acknowledged the importance of women’s empowerment, noting that it has helped address the struggles women faced in the past.
However, he believes it shouldn’t take away what he described as “natural womanly behavior” within relationships.
Sharing a personal example, he revealed that he feels respected and valued at home, something he says influences how he, in turn, treats his wife.
“Some women like control, but most times, the easiest way to get control is to act like you don’t want it and massage a man’s ego,” he explained, adding that his wife often does this and it creates harmony between them.
He also emphasized the importance of calmness in handling conflict, including being willing to apologize.
“I used to find it so hard to say sorry. I would change behavior but never say sorry, and I don’t even know why,” he admitted.
He added that his partner’s humility has influenced him, and now he is more open to apologizing when he is in the wrong.
