In a recent appearance on NTV Uganda’s Bold Women Show, Spice Diana encouraged women to embrace their authentic selves while sharing her personal journey.
Speaking forthrightly, the singer revealed that she is not particularly fond of makeup, choosing instead to keep things natural unless it’s for work or special occasions. She noted that those close to her understand her preference for simplicity.
“Those close to me know that I don’t like make up. I like to be myself most of the times and maybe throw on a wig and some lipgloss,” she said.
She also highlighted how difficult it is to please everyone, explaining that some people prefer her with makeup while others like her natural look.
“I have people who see me with makeup up on, and they like it while others prefer to see me without it,” she shared, urging women to always choose what makes them happy as it is difficult to meet everyone’s expectations.
Reflecting on her early perceptions of the music industry, she admitted she once believed becoming a musician required dropping out of school due to time constraints. She also thought artists had to use drugs or be high to perform on stage—assumptions she has since proven wrong.
“I used to think for one to become a musician, they had to drop out of school because they’d would be so overwhelmed with no time to handle both, do drugs, or only hit the stage when high,” she shared.
Describing herself as naturally shy, she shared that she still experiences stage fright, often feeling feverish before going on stage. Despite this, she has managed to consistently entertain her fans without relying on substances, performing with nothing more than water.
“I’ve managed to do it without the drugs because I hit the stage, entertain my fans while operating on only water,” she confessed, adding that somethings are just narratives put by people but one should know that they can do anything when they’re themselves.
