Seven UPL clubs qualify for Uganda Cup quarters

There will seven StarTimes Uganda Premier League sides in the round of eight draws for the 2025/26 Stanbic Uganda Cup following completion of the round of 16 duels.

Record joint holders KCCA and Express are amongst the seven top tier sides after overcoming Onduparaka (5-0) and Red Devo (4-0) respectively.

They are joined by current holders Vipers who eliminated Fufa Big League side Iganga United, SC Villa and NEC who got away after wins against fellow premiership sides Maroons and Lugazi respectively as well as Kitara and URA.

The only other side expected in the draw is non-league side Happy Boyz Kagaba.

The winner of the competition represents Uganda in the Caf Confederation Cup.

Last year, Vipers won it by beating KCCA 2-0 in the final at Fufa stadium, Kadiba.
