Media personality and content creator Etania Mutoni, popularly known as Life Of The Party, says her biggest motivation in the entertainment industry is the desire to keep evolving and trying new things.

Speaking about her journey, Etania joked that she hopes she never reaches a point where she is picking fights with younger creators online, referencing the recent public exchanges involving veteran media personality Joseph Kazoora.
Kazoora has recently been trending after trading public jabs with vloggers Isaac Katende and Frank Ntambi over debates about who qualifies as a real content creator.
Etania said she hopes to avoid such situations by constantly reinventing herself rather than competing with upcoming creators.
“I like doing new things. When I left TV, I became an emcee. When I saw we were becoming many there, I added other things. They chase who has the ball and you have to keep evolving,” she explained.
The media personality also revealed how she ventured into deejaying, a skill she developed during the COVID-19 lockdown period after drawing inspiration from international DJ Uncle Waffles.
According to Etania, friends encouraged her to try deejaying after showing her videos of Uncle Waffles performing.
“They encouraged me since I was already an emcee and I knew how to dance to learn the machines and start deejaying. I went to Kisasi and started studying and that’s how I started,” she said.
Today, Etania continues to juggle multiple roles as a DJ, emcee, radio personality, and digital content creator — a move she believes is necessary to remain relevant in an ever-changing entertainment industry.
