“They Don’t Wish Us Well”

By BigEyeUg Team

Swangz Avenue star Azawi is claiming that some veteran Ugandan musicians are using witchcraft and deliberately sabotaging new talent in the industry.

Speaking during a YouTube podcast with Frank Ntambi, Azawi did not hold back as she accused older artists of blocking the progress of emerging musicians.

“First of all, they don’t wish others well and secondly, they are thieves and thirdly, they practice witchcraft,” Azawi boldly stated. She went on to describe such artists as “devils,” adding that many young creatives struggle to break through because the industry gatekeepers refuse to give them space.

According to Azawi, the tension between old and new talent is deeper than just competition — it’s fueled by jealousy, greed, and harmful practices that make it difficult for fresh voices to thrive.

She is not the first artist to make these claims. Over the years, musicians like Spice Diana, Dianah Nalubega, and David Lutalo have also spoken out about witchcraft, sabotage, and unhealthy competition within the entertainment industry.
