Comedy Store UG founder and comedian Alex Muhangi has been officially elected as the new President of The Uganda Comedians Association (TUCA), marking a new chapter for the country’s comedy industry.
The announcement was made during a meeting held at Royal Suites, Bugolobi, which brought together top stakeholders, comedians, and industry players from across Uganda’s entertainment scene.
Muhangi takes over from Hannington Bugingo, who has been the founding president since the association’s inception in early 2019.
Under Bugingo’s leadership, TUCA was instrumental in organizing comedians under one body to promote unity and professionalism within the sector.
Launched in January 2020, TUCA’s mission is to unite Ugandan comedians, regulate the industry, and advocate for the welfare of artists.
