Former NRG radio presenter and deejay, DJ Alisha, has spoken out about her recent break from the entertainment scene and her decision to step away from the nightlife hustle.
Alisha, who officially left NRG in May last year to pursue a full-time career in deejaying, surprised many when she took a step back a few months ago, hinting that she was turning to church and leaving behind the night life.
However, in a new podcast interview, she has now cleared the air on what really happened.
“I wanted to refocus on myself. Night life or the entertainment scene isn’t for the faint-hearted. Sometimes it’s very easy to get lost in the business of it all. The crazy nights, the crazy crowds, the whole ambiance of it all, and I felt so drained,” she revealed.
According to DJ Alisha, the demanding nature of the industry left her feeling like she was operating on autopilot.
“I needed to take a step back to reconnect with myself because I felt I was doing everything without purpose, and I needed to figure out my way,” she explained.
