Promoter Abtex Demands Recognition and Support from Ministry of Gender

By BigEyeUg Team

Renowned events promoter Abbey Musinguzi, popularly known as Abtex, has voiced his disappointment towards the Ministry of Gender, Labour and Social Development for failing to recognize the efforts and contributions of events promoters in Uganda.

We came to the Ministry of Gender, but they don’t know us. We only demand our share,” Abtex said while addressing the media.

He expressed frustration over the continued neglect of the events and entertainment industry by government agencies, despite the sector’s large impact on employment and youth engagement.

Abtex emphasized that events promoters play a vital role in organizing shows, creating jobs, and supporting local artists, yet their efforts are often ignored when it comes to government support and recognition.

He called on the Ministry to include events promoters in national planning and support programs, saying it was time the government appreciated the work they do in building the country’s entertainment industry.
