Eddy Kenzo, also known as musician Edirisa Musuuza, has disclosed that he was never an official member of the Firebase team.
The singer clarified that he had to aggressively join the band since Bobi Wine, the group’s leader, had never officially registered him as a member.
Additionally, he said that Bobi Wine had never invited him to join Firebase and that the only reason he stayed in the Kamwokya-based band was because of Mike Wine.
“I was never a legal member of the Firebase crew, and actually, I was there forcefully because of Mike Wine, but I never registered as a member. Even Bobi didn’t welcome me into the crew because he came to know me after the ‘Yanimba’ hit,” he partly said.
But even now, Eddy Kenzo is still appreciative of Bobi Wine for giving him the studio time he needed to create the song that gave him more opportunities.
