WAZALENDO Sacco gives back to UPDF ahead of the Army week.

The Uganda Peoples Defence Forces official savings and loans Sacco the WAZALENDO Sacco handed over support worth 12.5 Million Uganda Shillings to the UPDF in support of the 42nd TAREHE SITA celebrations.

This happened at the WAZALENDO Sacco head offices in Kiwatule as the Sacco CEO Colonel Joseph Freddy Onata handed over 10 maternity bed and 50 dustbins to be donated to health centres in the greater Mbarara region.

“We are giving back to UPDF as a token of appreciation for the corporation we have as they have supported the Sacco for the 17 years with over 90,000 members and still providing more.”

“We have come out to give back to the community through the Army Week as we prepare for the 42nd TAREHE SITA celebrations, we shall also spend the entire week in greater Mbarara region sensitising the community of matters of Sacco governance.” Said Col. Freddy Onata

The Chief Political Commissioner (CPC) major General Henry Matsiko who received the WAZALENDO Sacco support in behalf of the UPDF, he was pleased with the continuous support the Sacco gives them as they look forward in fostering harmony and understanding between the army and the communities.

“This comes from our very own resources as UPDF to give back to the Army as we support the community, I am so happy to receive such support from the WAZALENDO Sacco.”

“We as the national Army we look forward to fostering harmony and understanding between the UPDF and the communities and WAZALENDO Sacco has done a great as we are now suppotlrti g health centres in the greater Mbarara region.” Said Maj. Gen Henry Matsiko.

The WAZALENDO Sacco will spend the entire Army week in the 9 districts which make up the greater Mbarara region as they educate the community on Sacco governance as they also prepare for the 42nd TAREHE SITA celebrations which will be held at Kakyeeka stadium on the 6th February.
