The previous circuit that was dubbed the Wakiso 7s was championed by The sailors of Pirates who didn’t make it past the semifinals this time.
On such a cold day, the new generation of Heathens players put up a show but above was Veteran Chris Lubanga was the man who put up a surprise of a performance because of the years he’s played the game at top level.
Away from Lubanga as a players all this team was led by an experienced technical bench who knew what it meant to win the 7’s circuit in Mohammed Athio, Kevin Makmot and Allan Otim.
Into the game, two tries by Joaquim Chisano and Trevor Ochan pushed Heathens after the break to a 12-5 lead after Tawfik Bagalana ‘s opener for Jinja Hippos in the first half which ended 05-00.
Denis Etwau tried to bring back Hippos into the game but didn’t manage to complete it hence Heathens winning it.
After it all the energetic Joaquim Chisano was named the Most Valuable Player of the circuit.
