Nalongo Kiweesi, the widow of the late dancehall singer Akay 47, has reportedly passed away after battling an illness. She is said to have breathed her last at Mengo Hospital.
Nalongo Kiweesi was the mother of Akay 47’s twins, Connie and Canaan. Following the singer’s untimely death, she raised the children while maintaining a close relationship with the Mayanja family.
Having spent much of her life in London, Nalongo Kiweesi frequently returned to Uganda to ensure her children stayed connected to their father’s family and heritage.
Despite keeping a relatively low public profile, she later attracted media attention through her relationship with dancehall singer Rabadaba. The pair held a colorful traditional marriage ceremony, but their union eventually came to an end after a short period.
Their separation was surrounded by speculation, with reports alleging that Rabadaba had used the marriage to secure settlement documents in the United Kingdom before relocating there. The claims were never officially verified.
Her reported death has shocked many in Uganda’s entertainment fraternity, with condolences beginning to pour in for her family, friends, and the twins she leaves behind.
The family is yet to release an official statement regarding burial arrangements.
