Weasel Manizo has declared that Goodlyfe Magic Limited, the company under which the legendary Radio & Weasel music catalog was created, owns all rights to the duo’s music and master recordings.

He insists that, as the company’s sole remaining director, he has the legal authority to withdraw the catalog from the Uganda Performing Rights Society (UPRS).
In a strongly worded statement shared on his social media platforms, Weasel accused UPRS of being inconsistent and unfair in its royalty distribution. He revealed that the organization recently paid him Shs285,000 in royalties collected over an 18-month period, a figure he says does not reflect the value of the Radio & Weasel catalog. According to Weasel, the duo’s music generates at least Shs10 million every month from YouTube alone, making the UPRS payout difficult to justify.
Weasel explained that all Radio & Weasel songs and collaborations were created, released, and registered under Goodlyfe Magic Limited, with the company holding ownership of the masters, publishing, and performance rights.
He further stated that any rights relating to the late Mowzey Radio remain with the company since no administrator has been appointed to Radio’s estate and no shares in the company have been transferred. He also maintained that featured artists on the duo’s recordings were contracted and paid by Goodlyfe Magic Limited, unless UPRS can provide valid agreements proving otherwise.
The singer concluded by directing UPRS to immediately stop licensing, collecting, and administering royalties for the entire Goodlyfe Magic Limited catalog trading as Radio & Weasel. He challenged the copyright body to produce any contracts showing a third party has superior ownership of the works, insisting that until such evidence is presented, the entire catalog should be removed from UPRS’ administration.
Weasel stressed that the matter is about legal ownership and corporate rights, adding that there would be “no negotiations” and “no meetings.”
