Jose Chameleone Defends Son Abba Marcus Amid Smoking Video Backlash

By BigEyeUg Team

Jose Chameleone has come to the defense of his son, Abba Marcus Mayanja, following criticism sparked by videos and photos circulating on social media showing the young musician smoking.

Speaking during an interview on NBS After 5, Chameleone revealed that he had already addressed the matter with his son, stressing that he does not support drug use or consider it acceptable behavior. He said parents should not assume that remaining silent means they approve of their children’s actions.

I saw one guy on social media talking about Abba sharing images of himself on Instagram, smoking drugs. Don’t think that I don’t mention to him that that is wrong; I do not condone that as good behavior,” Chameleone said.

He added that if Abba picked up the habit from him, he has since changed his own lifestyle, explaining that he no longer smokes and has also stopped drinking hard liquor, only taking beer occasionally.

Despite the controversy, Chameleone praised Abba Marcus as an intelligent, God-fearing young man who plays a fatherly role to his younger siblings whenever he is away.

He said one mistake should not define his son’s character and urged parents to maintain open communication with their children. According to the singer, honesty and trust between parents and children make it easier to recognize when they are doing well or beginning to lose their way.
