Fik Gaza Lashes Out After Allegedly Being Underpaid at NRM Event

By BigEyeUg Team

Ugandan singer Fik Gaza has expressed his disappointment after reportedly being paid peanuts for performing at a National Resistance Movement (NRM) event.

According to Fik Gaza, politicians—especially those affiliated with the ruling NRM party—only reach out to artists from the ghetto during political seasons to use their influence, and later abandon them once campaigns are over.

These politicians only need us during the political season. After that, they dump us as if we don’t matter,” Fik Gaza said.

He further revealed that he only accepts such bookings out of financial necessity, not out of affection or loyalty to the politicians or their parties.

I perform at their rallies because I need the money, not because I love them,” he added.

Fik Gaza’s remarks have sparked online discussions about how musicians are often treated by political figures, especially during campaign periods.
