Wakiso Hill, She Maroons share spoils in barren encounter

WSL

  • Wakiso Hill 0-0 She Maroons

Wakiso Hill’s search for their first Women Super League win continues following a goalless draw with She Maroons at St. Mary’s Stadium, Kitende.

The Antelopes, together with Tooro Queens, are the only teams yet to register victory this season after seven games played.

The encounter saw both She Maroons and Wakiso Hill fail to convert the few goal scoring chances that came their way.

The first attempt which also turned out to be the biggest chance of the game came in the 4th minute and fell to Wakiso Hill’s Faith Namuddu.

Namuddu was on the receiving end of Esther Anzo’s cross but her feeble tap in was saved by the She Maroons keeper Proscovia Adong.

Wakiso Hill’s teenage goalkeeper Halima Kasuubo pulled off an acrobatic save to deny Racheal Nassimbwa in the 67th minute.

She Maroons got another big chance from a goal mouth melee following a corner kick but Suzan Nambutye’s close range effort went over the bar with the goal at her mercy in the 73rd minute.

The final whistle saw Wakiso Hill register their second clean sheet of the season while She Maroons got their third goalless draw of the season.
