Singer Cindy has come out swinging after a recent interview with Zubeda stirred up controversy, leading to widespread misunderstandings about her marriage to actor Okuyo Atiku Prynce.
In a bold clarification, Cindy dismantled the rumors with precision, making it clear that she did not marry her husband—he married her.
The drama unfolded when Cindy, who has never shied away from speaking her truth, found herself at the center of swirling gossip after she heard some fans claiming that they admired her for “marrying Mr. Okuya.”
The singer was quick to slam the misinterpretation, calling it “totally wrong” and a “total disrespect” to her husband.
In her impassioned response, Cindy revealed a shocking detail about her past—after a painful breakup with her first love, she vowed never to move into a man’s house again.
Instead, she set a comfortable home for herself, vowing that any man who truly loved her would have to come to her.
Cindy insisted, when she met Okuyo, it was he who had to prove his love by moving into her home, not the other way around.
“When we decided to get married, he is the one who married me, not me,” Cindy declared, emphasizing that Okuyo fulfilled every traditional obligation, paying for everything that was required of him, including cows, goats, and chickens.
“He did it the right way,” she added, setting the record straight on who really took charge in their relationship.
But Cindy didn’t stop there. In a powerful video that’s sure to make waves, she called on women to stop “marrying themselves” and to know their worth. “You are all worthy to be married,” she urged, advising women to secure their own financial independence.
“This is 2024—there shouldn’t be women who say they want men to take care of them. Secure your own money so that in case you meet an ass, there is a way out.”
Cindy and Okuyo Atiku Prynce, who married in a grand ceremony at St. Stephen’s Church, Kisugu, Kampala in December 2021, are now the proud parents of two children.
