Swangz Avenue’s fiery sensation, Vinka, real names Veronica Nakiyingi, delivered a show-stopping performance that lit up Kasese during the Tusker Lite Neon Street Rave, the grand finale of the Tusker Lite Mt Rwenzori Marathon.
The third edition was nothing short of a night to remember, with over 3,600 runners and countless revelers witnessing Vinka’s brief but electrifying spectacle.
As the marathoners crossed the finish line on Stanley Street, the day’s athletic triumph quickly morphed into a feverish anticipation for the night’s headliner.
The streets swelled with eager fans, their excitement palpable as they lined up, buzzing with anticipation to experience Vinka’s magic, as it was the case in the previous editions when Karole Kasita and Cindy brought the house down.
By the time the clock struck midnight, Kasese was ready to explode, and Vinka did not disappoint.
Opening acts by local talents like Heli Baibe and Good Hope ignited the crowd, setting a vibrant tone for the evening. However, it was Vinka who set the town ablaze. She was greeted with thunderous applause as she stepped onto the stage, a wave of adoration cresting just after her voice was heard before she stepped on the stage.
Vinka’s performance began with a bang as she belted out her hit ‘All Over You’, instantly catapulting the crowd into a frenzied celebration.
The cheers reverberated through the streets, even felt by those who never accessed the venue.
With each successive hit like Chips Ne Ketchup,” “Thank God,” “One Touch”—Vinka fueled the crowd’s energy, turning the Neon Rave into an unstoppable force of music and movement.
Fans, unable to contain their excitement, danced with abandon and chanted her name, demanding for more.
Patience Aguti, Project Manager at Uganda Breweries Limited (UBL), emphasized the significance of the Neon Rave’s Kasese edition, underlining its role in uniting the community and honoring the marathoners’ incredible achievements.
“The Tusker Lite Neon Rave in Kasese was more than just an event—it was a celebration of the spirit, determination, and vibrancy of all who participated in the marathon. It was our way of giving back to a town that welcomed us with open arms and made this marathon truly special,” Aguti shared.
The rave blazed on into the early hours, with Tusker Lite flowing freely as revelers basked in the afterglow of a night that will be remembered.
The marathon might have tested the runners’ endurance, but it was Vinka who truly set the town on fire.
