Tooro Babiito Clan Demands DNA Test Over Claim of Late King Oyo’s Son

Members of the Tooro Babiito clan have expressed anger and concern over reports that the late King Oyo Nyimba Kabamba Iguru Rukidi IV had a son whose existence was not previously known to the wider royal family.

The clan is demanding a DNA test to establish the paternity of the said prince, amid questions over why the family was not informed about his existence earlier.

“We understand the King had to be hidden from the public, but we, the Babiito, are not the public. We are family, and we should have known,” members of the clan said.

The development comes amid heightened attention on the succession and continuity of the Tooro Kingdom following the King’s death.
