Jowy Landa has opened up about her strained relationship with fellow artist Black Shuga, revealing painful details that left her and her family deeply hurt.
Speaking during an appearance on NRG Ignition, Jowy Landa said she has chosen to step back and let “karma” take its course rather than engaging in further conflict.
The singer recounted a moment that highlighted how close they once were. According to Jowy, she once accommodated Black Shuga at her home after the latter claimed she had lost her house keys during a night out.
“She told me she had lost her keys while we were at a bar and asked if she could sleep at my place. I agreed,” Jowy explained, adding that she had initially chosen to keep such moments private.
However, things later took a negative turn. Jowy revealed that tensions began when Black Shuga repeatedly asked her to perform at her events without pay. While she agreed the first time, she requested facilitation during the second request—something she says was met with insults.
“At first, she asked me to perform for free and I did. The second time, I asked for facilitation and she abused me,” Jowy said.
The fallout escalated further, with Jowy disclosing that the situation became so intense it affected her family, particularly her mother.
“I’m strong, but she made my mother cry. That hurt me so much. I kept wondering what I had done to deserve that,” she shared.
Jowy explained that her mother actively follows her on social media, especially TikTok, and often sees the negative things said about her daughter online.
Despite the pain, Jowy insists she does not wish ill on Black Shuga, though she believes her actions were wrong.
The experience has also changed how the singer approaches friendships. She admitted that being overly kind has backfired in the past—something her mother had warned her about.
“I reached a point where I felt like I should stop being too nice. Right now, I don’t have female friends. I’m scared because people get close to you, learn things about you, and then use them for clout,” she revealed.
