BRIDGES & BEATS CONCERT UNITES CULTURES IN A VIBRANT FRANCOPHONIE CELEBRATION IN KAMPALA


Music, culture, and international collaboration came alive in spectacular fashion at the Bridges & Beats Concert, held at Kingdom Kampala as part of the global Francophonie Month celebrations. The event delivered an unforgettable evening, seamlessly blending diverse sounds, artistic expression, and cultural heritage from across Africa and beyond.

Organized by Talent Africa Group in collaboration with Alliance Française Kampala, Bridges & Beats is a dynamic music and cultural experience designed to celebrate the French language and the richness of Francophone cultures, while fostering meaningful exchange with Uganda’s vibrant creative scene.

Held under this year’s Francophonie theme, “Activating your Francophonie,” the concert invited audiences to engage with French culture in an immersive and contemporary way.

From the moment gates opened, attendees were taken on a rich musical journey celebrating unity through rhythm. High-energy sets from DJ Rocky and DJ Lavet set the tone for an electrifying night, while traditional performances by the Impundu Cultural Group and the Royal Drums (UNESCO Heritage ensemble) offered a powerful tribute to African heritage and storytelling.

The momentum continued with captivating performances from Doch Dodava and Blac Queen, followed by a dynamic fusion set from Ssewa Ssewa & Prof Joewi, blending contemporary and traditional sounds. Aliddeki Brian and Tracy Melondelivered standout vocal performances that deeply resonated with the audience.

The night reached its peak with a commanding closing performance by Elijah Kitaka, whose electrifying set brought the concert to a thrilling finale, leaving fans energized and inspired.

Speaking on the success of the event, Cecilia Ovonj, Cultural Project Manager at Alliance Française Kampala, emphasized the importance of cultural exchange:
