Rickman Manrick has shared details of a frightening car accident he survived after a performance in Fort Portal on March, the 8th.
According to the singer, the accident happened while he and his team were traveling back after the show. Rickman explained that they initially planned to use the Mityana–Fort Portal road, but changed their route due to the poor state of the road.
He revealed that the road had many potholes, which prompted them to take the Hoima route instead, even though it was longer.
Rickman recalled that he had fallen asleep in the backseat of the car during the journey. However, he woke up to a shocking moment.
“It was far but the road there is good, so I was sleeping in the backseat and on waking up, the car was in the air. We swayed off the road and the car rolled and hit the trees,” he narrated.
Despite the severity of the crash, the singer said all three people who were in the vehicle miraculously escaped without injuries.
He added that shortly after they got out of the car, it caught fire, though he is still unsure what exactly caused the flames.
Rickman believes their survival was nothing short of a miracle.
“We were saved by the seat belts and God. It was a Subaru and now I’m using a boda boda and I’ll buy another one Insha Allah, but we are all okay. We all went for checkups and it turned out we are fine,” he said.
The singer expressed gratitude for their safety, emphasizing that the most important thing is that everyone involved walked away unharmed despite the terrifying incident.
