FRANCE Shadia Nankya completes move to French Premiere Ligue side
Crested Cranes defender Shadia Nankya has joined French Premiere Ligue side Le Harve AC on a one and half year contract.
Nankya recently parted ways with NWSL giants Washington Spirit following a brief loan stint at Dallas Trinity in the USL Super League.
The towering center back has today been unveiled by the French Club and will don shirt number 5.
Nankya who previously played for Uganda Martyrs and UCU Lady Cardinals in Uganda, garnered global attention while featuring for Egyptian side FC Masar.
A move to Europe also implies Nankya will become the first Ugandan to play in the French Premiere Ligue which is ranked among the best female topflight leagues in Europe.
In fact, Nankya could debut against eight-time European champions Lyonnes (Olympique Lyon) in the club’s subsequent league fixture on Tuesday 10th March.
Le Harve AC currently sits 8th on the French Premiere Ligue table with 16 points from as many games played so far.
