The Prince Job Paul Kafeero Cultural Heritage has raised concern over what it describes as the widespread and unauthorised use of the late singer’s music across digital platforms.
In a statement dated March 3, 2026, the Heritage revealed that several of Kafeero’s original songs are being tampered with, re-voiced, and redistributed on platforms such as TikTok and YouTube without consent from the rightful copyright holders.
According to the organisation, some individuals have altered the original lyrics while retaining Kafeero’s melodies, allegedly repackaging the songs with political and abusive messaging. The Heritage further claims that certain modified versions are being monetised, yet no permission has been sought from those legally mandated to manage the late artist’s works.
Among the songs reportedly affected are “Ekiwemenya Amazina” and “Dipo Nazigala,” both of which remain some of Kafeero’s most celebrated compositions.
The Heritage says it has compiled a list of individuals involved in the alleged infringement and has instructed Bristow Advocates to commence legal proceedings against the culprits.
Notably, singers Kid Dee and Lil Pazo were singled out in the statement. The organisation accuses them of re-voicing Kafeero’s songs using his original melodies while inserting new lyrics it describes as abusive, immoral, and politically charged.
The Prince Job Paul Kafeero Cultural Heritage is now urging Ugandans to respect the legacy of the fallen kadongo kamu icon and to desist from altering his music for political mobilisation or commercial exploitation.
