Singer Spice Diana has opened up about how her chart-topping collaboration with Vyroota, “Nakkiriza,” came to be — a project that is currently dominating airwaves and social media across Uganda.
The song, released just a month ago, has already surpassed 1 million YouTube views, solidifying its place as one of the country’s biggest hits at the moment.
According to Spice Diana, her connection with Vyroota started long before the collaboration. She revealed that she had been quietly admiring his talent for a while.
“He used to come here at our studio to record with one of my producers. Later on I started listening to his music and then I told my management I want to work with that boy… I think I spotted him first,” she said.
Spice added that Vyroota was extremely excited when her team contacted him, admitting he had always dreamed of working with her but feared being rejected.
“Immediately we started on the project and he was always on me about when we should release it, and even when I wasn’t ready, we had to put it out,” she shared.
The “Jangu Ondabe” star praised Vyroota for his focus and determination, traits she considers essential when choosing collaborators.
“I like to work with intentional people, and Vyroota is exactly that type of person who knows what he wants,” Spice said.
