In a shocking turn of events, National Unity Platform (NUP) President Robert Kyagulanyi Ssentamu, commonly known as Bobi Wine, has been shot in the leg by police in Bulindo, Wakiso District.
Unconfirmed reports are saying that the incident occurred during a confrontation between Kyagulanyi’s entourage and police.
The NUP leader was immediately rushed to a nearby hospital for urgent medical attention.
The extent of his injuries is currently unknown, but his condition is being closely monitored by medics.
This incident is likely to escalate tensions as Kyagulanyi, who participated in 2021 Presidential Elections, has been a vocal critic of the government and has faced numerous arrests and confrontations with law enforcement in the past.
