Dorcus Kirabo Bashema socially known as Mama D explained her culinary journey.
Mama D rose to fame after she made an attempt to break the world record for longest individual cooking session.
This attempt was however not allowed by the Guinness World Record committee stating that it had some irregularities on how the time was calculated.
This hiccup to Mama D’s cooking career didn’t stop her from moving forwards towards achieving his dream.
In June of 2024, Mama D has declared yet another cookathon as a second attempt to break the Guinness World Record for longest individual cooking session.
This cookathon shall be held at the High Note Bar, situated along Kamuli road in Kireka.
This resilience and ambition has indeed raised people’s eye brows.
In the same vein, Mama D was asked why she is very persistent with cooking and breaking the world record.
Mama D explained that cooking is very intimate to her. She added that cooking is her source of joy and she finds fulfillment in it.
“Cooking is like therapy to me” she noted.
Mama D stated that she tried other professions like banking which she studied but she failed to fall in love with it. She felt always drawn back to the kitchen.
To make it even more interesting, she started experimenting different recipes and shared them on Facebook.
At first she did it for the fun of it but later people started demanding to taste her food. This gave her the idea to monetize her skill and love in cooking.
Mama is blessed to be working on something that she loves and enjoys. It is indeed a privilege.
We look forward to a successful cookathon come June.
