Singer Jackie Chandiru regrets drug addiction wasted years

Jackie Chandiru, a singer, expressed her profound sadness for losing seven years of her life to drug abuse. The effects of that time remain in her life even after she overcame her addiction.

“I killed 7 years of my life, dropped from top to bottom, and I am still paying the price,” she admitted.

Chandiru, a gifted musician who had a 15-year career, watched as her addiction worsened and she lost control of her life. Less performances and public appearances occurred, in favor of solitude and hardship.

Chandiru sold treasured items to fund her addiction after exhausting her savings. Fortunately, her relatives intervened, offering vital assistance and enabling her recovery in Kenya.

The wounds are clean but not gone.

“I would be very far from where I am if I hadn’t been addicted to drugs,” she said. “The impact may still be seen. I’m still having to pay for it.
