Chai Wenjaaye hit maker Planet Omutume has bragged after dramatist Kato Lubwama re-did his song.
The song Chai Wenjaaye was released in January 2023 but it trended in February after Liam Voice made a challenge of it on TikTok.
Ever since it has been trending, people have been commenting about it saying it is one of the songs that shouldn’t be trending because it doesn’t make any sense.
With the word marijuana in it, people think it is promoting taking of drugs yet it should be teaching people to leave drugs.
One of the people that were despising it is Kato Lubwama but surprisingly he has gone to the studio to re-do it.
According to the owner of the song, he didn’t expect that but he is very proud that it happened a legendary is re-doing his song.
He said he grew up seeing young artistes re-do songs of the old artistes but it is now vice versa and that shows he has impacted the music industry in Uganda.
Kato Lubwama’s version of Chai Wenjaaye is very different. It condemns taking of drugs and the effects it has on someone’s life.
“I am happy to see my elder Kato Lubwama re-doing my song. It is us the upcoming artistes that have been re-doing old songs but now legends are re-doing our songsg. That shows how impactful I have been on Uganda’s music industry,” Planet Omutume said
