In a historic move set to redefine regional collaboration, the inaugural Miss Tourism East Africa pageant has been officially announced, with the Pearl of Africa Uganda slated to host the landmark event in July 2026.

For the first time, the rich tapestry of East African culture, heritage, and natural wonder will converge under one banner. This premier competition will bring together seven East African nations Uganda, Kenya, Tanzania, Rwanda, the Democratic Republic of Congo, Burundi and South Sudan alongside the semi-autonomous state of Zanzibar. Each region will field three distinguished delegates, drawn from their respective national Miss Tourism platforms, to compete for a title that represents far more than a crown.
Miss Tourism East Africa is being architected as a strategic catalyst for the region’s tourism sector. Beyond the spectacle of the event itself, the initiative aims to leverage the collective influence of its ambassadors to celebrate and showcase the breathtaking diversity of tourism opportunities spanning from the Indian Ocean coastline to the Congolese rainforests and the savannahs of the Rift Valley.
The selected titleholder will serve as the premier face and brand ambassador for East African tourism advocacy, tasked with uniting the region under a shared narrative of peace, cultural wealth, and untapped potential.

A Call to Visionaries
As the event moves toward its July debut, organizers are extending a confidential invitation to corporate entities, hospitality groups, and tourism boards seeking alignment with a pan-African legacy project. This is a unique opportunity for sponsors and strategic partners to align with a movement that prioritizes regional integration, women’s empowerment, and the economic revitalization of tourism.
For interested participants, the official channels for delegate accreditation and national committee coordination will be announced in the coming weeks. Prospective sponsors and media partners are encouraged to initiate discussions immediately to secure their role in what is poised to be the most anticipated cultural and tourism event in the region this decade.

Further details regarding the official venue, the selection criteria, and the full roster of partners will be unveiled in the lead-up to the main event.
