DJ Nimrod has declared that DJs who have been criticizing him will not benefit from the Shs110 million recently received to support DJs through their SACCO.

The money was secured from the Uganda National Musicians Federation (UNMF) and is intended to support DJs through a SACCO scheme where members can borrow funds and return them with a small interest to help grow their creative businesses.
However, Nimrod made it clear that he will not allocate any of the money to DJs who have been abusing him or questioning his leadership over the years.
According to the DJs Association president, the funds have already been deposited on the association’s account, which he controls, and will be managed together with the SACCO leadership to benefit registered members.
For years, some DJs have expressed frustration toward Nimrod, accusing him of mishandling relief funds that were given to creatives during the Covid-19 lockdowns—allegations he has repeatedly denied.
Addressing the criticism, Nimrod questioned the credibility of some of the DJs attacking him.
“Have they ever done a show? Have they been abroad before? I don’t know those ones abusing me,” he said.
He also revealed that he plans to take Shs1 million from the fund to give to his mother as a token of appreciation for raising him.
“I have got Shs110 million for the DJs and I’m going to give Shs1 million to my mother to thank her for giving birth to me. The rest of the money will be handled together with the treasurer and we see how to distribute it among fellow DJs,” he added.
Nimrod further defended himself by saying that all DJs were invited to meetings where the SACCO plans were discussed. He argued that those who failed to attend should not blame him for missing out.
According to him, the money is meant for all DJs, but priority will be given to those who are officially registered with the DJs Association under the federation.
He went even further, saying he does not recognize individuals who claim to be DJs but do not participate in the association’s activities.
“The money is entitled to every DJ but mostly to those that are registered in our association which is under the federation,” Nimrod explained.
