Express FC
Express FC have signed goalkeeper Ronald Kiberu on a three year contract from Mutundwe Red Star FC.
Kiberu is a former national U17 (Cubs) and U20 (Hippos) goalkeeper who comes in to fill the void left by Ali Mwirusi who joined Midlands Wanderers in the South African second tier.
Kiberu is also a former goalkeeper of St. Mary’s Kitende and has previously turned out for Buddu, Mawokota and Buluuli in the Masaza Cup.
He will serve as a backup for Hafizi Khassim who has been outstanding since assuming the club’s first choice status in between the sticks.
Express also signed striker Kenneth Kimera on the transfer deadline day on loan from Vipers until the end of the season.
The Red Eagles have been one of the busiest sides in the mid-season transfer window after bringing in a number of new players to replace the departed.
The club signed Shafik Lugolobi (URA FC), Marvin Praise Wambuga and James Ssemambo (both from Calvary), free agents Marvin Nyanzi, Gift Ali Abubaker, Blanchar Mulamba and Amos Muwonge.
In the process, Muhammad Ssenoga Kagawa, Rashid Kawawa, Hakim Wandera, Richard Basangwa, Ali Mwirusi, Ramz Kawooya and Moses Oloya left the club.
The Jimmy Kintu coached side will face Maroons FC in their subsequent league game on Wednesday (today) night at Nakivubo.
