URA FC
Striker Derrick Kakooza has joined URA FC on a two year contract, the club has confirmed.
Kakooza who last featured for KF Terbuni Puke in the Albanian third tier last season, was part of the URA FC squad that took part in the Mapinduzi Cup in Zanzibar early this year.
Kakooza is the fourth player to be unveiled by The Tax Collectors, after Moses Waiswa, Disan Galiwango and Rahmat Ssenfuka.
For a start, Kakooza garnered international attention after emerging as the top scorer at the U20 AFCON tournament in Mauritania in 2021 with five goals.
The former Police striker subsequently moved to Valmiera in Latvia, Finland’s KUPs and later Egyptian side ENPPI SC before switching to Ethiopia Coffee in September 2023.
URA FC are in search of a comeback having endured a very poor first round of the season that currently pits them in the 13th position with 15 points accumulated from 17 games played.
The Hussein Mbalangu coached side will return to action on Wednesday 4th March with a home duel against Mbarara City at Nakivubo.
