Shaz Gasto, a Tanzanian born rapper and songwriter now based in Germany, is steadily carving out his place in the global music scene while staying true to his roots.
Born in Tanzania and raised during the golden era of hip-hop, Shaz Gasto recorded his first track in Dar es Salaam in 2006. He continued recording and performing before relocating to Frankfurt in 2010. Today, the artist calls Hamburghome, where he continues to pursue his passion for music.
Despite being based in Europe, Shaz has never abandoned his musical journey. Unlike many artists who rely heavily on YouTube, he has chosen to distribute his music primarily through platforms such as Audiomack and SoundCloud, where his growing catalog can be found.
Shaz Gasto’s latest release, “Action,” is a bold and socially conscious track that reflects on pain, oppression, and the fire of resistance. The song takes aim at issues such as police brutality and corruption, delivering a message that is both powerful and thought-provoking.
