Mubaraka Munyagwa Advises Kasuku on President Museveni’s Shs 5 Billion Pledge

Politician Mubaraka Munyagwa has cautioned popular YouTuber Isaac Katende, widely known as Kasuku, to tread carefully following President Yoweri Museveni’s pledge of Shs 5 billion to content creators’ SACCO.

Speaking about the funding, Munyagwa warned that the promised money could potentially affect Kasuku’s reputation if not handled wisely.

If Kasuku is not careful, that money that was promised to them could taint his name, image, and brand. The challenge he faces is that the public feels like he got a lot of money, and every blogger believes that they have a share of it. And when the sharing time comes, that will be more trouble,” he said.

He further advised Kasuku to maintain his focus as a journalist and not get entangled in the distribution controversies surrounding the SACCO funds.

When he gets to meet the head of state, he should ask for his own money besides the SACCO funding. If he is not keen, that stuff could finish him,” Munyagwa added.

The Shs 5 billion funding was pledged by President Museveni during the 1st March edition of the Jazz with Jajja sit-down, aiming to support content creators across Uganda.
