Ugandan dancehall singer Ziza Bafana has revealed that the late Mowzey Radio had plans to relocate to Rwanda before his untimely death, and had even made arrangements to purchase land there.

Bafana, who collaborated with Radio and the Goodlyfe Crew on the song “Byagana,” shared that the celebrated singer had grown increasingly frustrated with Uganda’s music industry and was seeking a fresh challenge.
According to Bafana, Radio deeply valued his talent as a composer, which strengthened their bond in the studio.
“We did a lot of songs together during that time, and there’s one I really wanted us to release because Radio knew a lot of music touches and good progressions. That was the time I found him with his sister wanting to relocate to go to Rwanda,” Bafana revealed.
He explained that Radio admired how organized Rwanda’s music industry appeared and believed it offered better structures for growth. This, Bafana says, partly influenced Radio’s decision to establish his own label, Angel Music, as he sought to chart a new path away from the Goodlyfe camp.
“I think he had already secured land there and wanted to move because he was frustrated with Uganda’s music industry. Radio wanted to be challenged. Even when I tried to get him to the studio, he wanted to take me on,” Bafana added.
Mowzey Radio, who passed away in 2018, remains one of Uganda’s most celebrated musical talents.
