Jose Chameleone Says He Is a Changed Man, Credits Mentors for Music Growth

Legendary Ugandan singer Jose Chameleone has revealed that he is now a changed person and credits his growth to guidance from respected music icons he considers his mentors.

Speaking during a YouTube interview, the celebrated artist said he has found inspiration from musicians who have remained strong and relevant in the industry for many years.

I am changed now, I have mentors. I call them my mentors because I admire them for they are still alive and in good health,” Jose Chameleone revealed.

He explained that he looks up to senior artists who have managed to sustain long and successful careers in music. According to him, their discipline and consistency have greatly influenced his mindset and approach to the industry.

For example, Koffi Olomidé is now over 60 years but still essential to the industry, and he has done it for over 50 years now,” Jose Chameleone added.

The singer listed several legendary musicians he considers his mentors. These include Koffi Olomidé, Awilo Longomba, Moses Matovu of Afrigo Band, Alpha Blondy, and Yvonne Chaka Chaka.

Jose Chameleone noted that these artists have not only built strong legacies but have also maintained their health and relevance over the decades.

He said their journey motivates him to focus on longevity and professionalism in his own career.

The singer’s remarks have sparked conversations among fans, with many praising him for recognizing and respecting those who paved the way in African music.
