Ugandan singer Grace Khan is once again back in rehabilitation, facing mounting medical bills that have reportedly reached UGX 6 million, prompting renewed calls for urgent support.
The situation has caught the attention of Uganda National Musicians Federation (UNMF) president Eddy Kenzo, who has pledged to engage the federation’s leadership to see how they can assist the troubled singer.
Speaking to the media yesterday, Kenzo said he was aware of Grace Khan’s struggles and confirmed that he would consult the UNMF secretariat about possible intervention.
“We shall ask the secretariat whether they are aware of the situation and see what can be done. We have helped her several times before,” Kenzo noted.
Grace Khan has battled alcohol addiction for several years and, more recently, drug dependency. Her situation has seen her in and out of rehabilitation centers, with repeated attempts to help her regain stability.
At the beginning of her recovery journey, she received support from Pastor Aloysius Bugingo and his wife, Susan Bujjingo. However, that support was later withdrawn after the singer reportedly relapsed multiple times despite earlier efforts to help her recover.
Despite the setbacks, Eddy Kenzo assured the media that he would personally follow up on Grace Khan’s case and try to ensure she gets the support she needs this time around.
