The Uganda communication commission (UCC) has threatened to cut off all radio and television stations that spread hatred among the people.
The UCC ED George William Nyombi said that they have sent multiple warnings to different stations telling them about their behaviour but unfortunately most of them haven’t made any changes instead they have continued to defy.
In Uganda there is so much hatred that makes rounds all over social media and it is now going in the main stream media.
Some people have been arrested and other television programs have been suspended but no radio or television station has been scrapped off.
With the current threat, it seems like there is a clear action that is going to be taken against the other platforms and their bosses.
“If you are a radio or TV station that has been spreading hatred and inciting people, we will not renew your license,” – George William Nyombi Thembo, @UCC_ED
